Anyone can share more abt KLIBOR loan?

I plan to buy a new house this year and I am looking for home loan. I went to the bank and the banker share with me now they have KLIBOR loan, another new alternative. He shared about KLIBOR loan and advice me to think about it. Anyway I still want to find out more abt KLIBOR home loan, still can not decide conventional loan is better or KLIBOR.

KLIBOR full name is Kuala Lumpur Interbank Offered Rate.
BLR which is 6.60% + X.XX%, KLIBOR rate is KLIBOR + X.XX%. it is the average interest rate at which term deposits are offered between prime banks in the Malaysian wholesale money market or interbank market.BNM announce that BLR is no longer relevant by next year and will replaced with new framework rate,that is KLIBOR. this article mentioned about KLIBOR,u can click here

Conventional Home loans make use of Base Lending Rate (BLR) as reference rate to determine the interest rate will replace with KLIBOR-pegged housing loan used KLIBOR as reference rate to determine the interest rate by 2015. The difference between KLIBOR-pegged home loan and Converntional BLR-pegged home loan is the fluctuating nature of KLIBOR,
KLIBOR changes every 3 months and I think that KLIBOR is definitely more attractive in terms of rate, sometimes KLIBOR could be lower than BLR-interest.

hi lesles,i suggest u to choose KLIBOR as this home loan package will give the lower interest rate and package valued added package.

according to the historical data from 2008 – 2013, the 3-Month KLIBOR has always been lower than BLR. There is also a strong positive correlation between BLR and KLIBOR. And the effective interest rates are based on BLR -2.5% and KLIBOR + 1% right now are just the same

Am interested to find out more abt KLIBOr home loan, but don’t know where to get more info ya? What is the current rate? Is it good rate? Where to find more info? Which bank is offering this klibor packages?

What i know is you can check the KLIBOR current rate at daily newspaper such as the THE STAR, SIN CHEW JIT POH, CHINA PRESS..
But if you not read newspaper can get the rate online at

Actually currently in market the bank offer the KLIBOR is Standard Charted bank and also the Hong Leong..
Hong Leong Bank is offer the KLIBOR housing loan in flexi home loan which is better than the Standard Charted KLIBOR
